Repeal of Boil Water Advisory Devine Street area
The Boil Water Advisory for the Devine Street area has been repealed.
Boil Water and Traffic Advisory
The City of Columbia Water Works advises the water customers in the area of 4100 and 4200 Block of Devine Street, Kawana Road, Kipling Drive, Kalmia Drive, and Poinsettia Street, located in Richland County, to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking. Also, any residents near the affected area who have lost water and/or water pressure are advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
The City of Columbia has experienced an eighteen inch water line break. This could possibly result in bacterial contamination of the water on the 4100 and 4200 Block of Devine Street, Kawana Road, Kipling Drive, Kalmia Drive, and Poinsettia Street. Water customers should continue to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking until otherwise notified by the City of Columbia Water Works. Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
The City of Columbia Water Works is presently working to correct the problem. The inbound right lane of Devine Street is currently blocked between Kipling Drive and Poinsettia Street.

Annual Post-Holiday Twelfth Night Adult Party
The Sherwood Forest Neighborhood Association’s annual post-holiday adult drop-in is set for 6-10pm on Friday, January 8th at Bloomwood, the 1920’s home of W. Gordon Belser, 530 Kilbourne Rd (behind the Piggly Wiggly). Regina Monteith has again graciously agreed to host our adult party at her beautiful and historic home!
The association will provide a HoneyBaked ham, beer, wine and soft drinks. If you’re coming, bring a side dish, snack or dessert. We would also like to know if you can help with the setup and/or cleanup at Regina’s home.
Please RSVP to our event coordinator Kathy Swanson at 803-787-0963 or excom2@sherwoodforestneighbors.org, and let her know what you can bring and if you can help with setup and/or cleanup.
